Lease on Golf R
Discussion
Howdy all.
It's been a long wait, but I'll be picking up a Golf R on 6+23 lease at the end of the month.
I still have the opportunity to add tyre cover and maintenance/servicing apparently; £25.20 for maintenance, plus another £5.95 for tyre cover (through VWFS).
Tyre cover at that price seems a no brainer on the face of it (I have yet to receive T&C's though), but I suspect it is a "top-up" for the maintenance & service package price only, which seem far less of a bargain.
Have people generally been taking this?
Is everyone asking for their car to be put on long life service schedules so they avoid one (or all?) services before handing back?
Thanks in advance.

Not in the Mk7 as retrofitting Nav seems neigh on impossible. The kenwood systems etc are for the Mk5/ Mk6Interested in this for our mk5.

For those of you who have received your Golf R and those waiting,
whats the thoughts on delivery as appose to collection,
my car to be delivered 160miles away in telford,
is it sensible to allow vw driver to have a 160 mile spin in my new R?
or should i take the train and see if i could get any free-bees?
mine was delivered to a dealership 117miles away i also toyed with the idea of collecting it but decided it'd be cheaper for me (fuel, train ticket etc) and at least the car's run in a bit when you get it lol.whats the thoughts on delivery as appose to collection,

Honestly, who really cares if its thrashed on its way down to you, it has warranty and you're handing it back after 2 years

Mine has been at UK Port since Friday but the leasing company can't deliver it untill the 24th of March so I'm still renting the Hyundai i20. Don't want to name and shame but I've not been impressed with the leasing company. I also asked if I could collect the car from a compound/hub/dealership and was told it was home delivery only

Mine arrived in the UK on Friday too. 7 working day turnaround from port to your door seems great to me. I guess you have had other issues with them?DUMBO100 said:

Sounds bloody quick for me, given the sheer volume of VWG cars going through the UK ports and on trucks at the moment. 2 sMoKiN bArReLs said:

Gazza, its unconfirmed for BW 18
I'd be VERY angry at being made to wait till probably end of May for a car I ordered in October! I don't want to come over all vwroc but it really is unacceptable.GilesyGee said:

Vwcs should tell you the unconfirmed build week and then you can work out from that when to expect it confirmed (ie subtract 4)
Gazza, its unconfirmed for BW 18On that basis you will see the car in June.
