Just checked paperwork. Can confirm it is 6.8ppm Inc. VAT up to 9,999 miles. Above 9,999 additional miles this rises to 9.1 ppm Inc. VAT.

I shared your logic and opted for a 5,000 mile contract on the Golf R Estate. I've always viewed lease deals through negative eyes, however this works so well for my situation, Very excited.
Who's underwriting that, doesn't sound like VWFS?

After 2.5k miles in 2 months me and the Mrs are loving the car. we've hardly touched our other vehicles as its 'cheaper' to run this especially with the 6ppm excess.

1 question. Coming back from the lakes yesterday a large stone (rock) bounced up and took some paint off the bonnet and left a 50p sized dent (I blamed the wives driving!).

Should we:

1) Wait until lease up and let them charge for damage, my theory is that of the next 17.5k miles there will be more chips
2) Get sorted now via VW
3) Get sorted now via a auth VW repairer (anyone know one in West Yorks?)
4) Get my mate to sort at his bodyshop (not VW approved)

Thanks

5) get it sorted closer to the end of your lease as Sod's law will definitely get you before then if you have it repaired. Assume you're familiar with : http://www.makingleasingsimple.co.uk/media/Templat...

Just spotted this deal for the Golf R estate. Not bad considering it is a DSG. Shame there is no manual option. frown

just been on their site - their chat guy v helpful - if not already known, they can roll down mthly payments by increasing deposit (havent checked yet to see if it is directly equivalent or if they look favourably on volunteering more upfront)

10k miles a year.

253 x 23 months

Initial payment 2282

Plus 299 + VAT admin fee.

Thats not a good deal at over 8400 for the 2 year period. Can get it much cheaper.

Look back on this thread its also cheaper to get the Golf R Estate on a 5k deal and pay 6.2 pence a mile including VAT if you go over.

Best I've had on an estate golf R is

£266 per month 6 payments initially 7.9ppm 5000miles

That's with optional 19's and reversing camera in white

Anyone beat that as I'm keen to order this week

Hi guys, I have been browsing the deals as well - a bit late to the party I admit!

Speaking of drivetrains, the Estate versions is currently the cheapest way to get the R power. Living in Central London and looking for smaller car, my preference was a 3-door Golf R. As far as I was able to find out, most of the 2014 deals have now gone. The price increase with the MY2016 change (earlier this month) has done the rest. Most of the leasing companies will try to sway you to cars they have already on order (but they are mostly 5 doors), so you may get these cars at the pre-price increase cost and more quickly (as they are earlier in the queue..).

For a new order, the cheapest offer I was able to find was at Carleasing-Online. The prices on their website may be outdated but aren't too far off (was only a few quid for me). Got a cracking deal there for a 3-door DSG R in red at 12+23 with 8k mls and paying below £250/month. Try to speak to Chris, he was very approachable and patient (me being new to the whole lease thing!). If you live in London, don't waste your time trying to go to Alan Day. They only work with VWFS and were more than £4k more expensive on a total amount payable basis!!

Hope this may help some of you that are still out there looking for a hatchback R!

The Golf R deal at 12 + 23 looks expensive to me compared with others out there.

I would not pay 12 months as an initial payment as thats £3000 with this deal. The Golf R is the most stolen car in the UK at the moment and if it was stolen or written off in a accident the lease company will terminate the deal and you have just lost £3000.Its safer to go with ideally 3 months initial payment or failing that 6 months.

Not sure if you will find it cheaper for 3 door DSG. The deals from 2014 are gone...

This might be interesting for people with an R from VWFS. Apparently once you're within 90 days of contract end, it is possible to get a quote to buy the car from here - http://www.vwfs.co.uk/content/sites/vwcorporate/vw...

Nice, I'm awaiting a quote back from them for a white with DCC and the blue, no haggling required to get that price ? Seems strange I would get such an increase and initial payment, this was from centralukleasing though, will see what freedom come back with.
