I'm new to this thread. Sorry I've not read all 500+ pages
I've found a deal for a R 5 door, manual. 15000 miles/pa nil deposit, tax, insurance and all servicing included, £406/month over three years.
Good deal?
Thanks.
so 14K and just add fuel - over 45K and 3 years - is that business lease or personal inc/excl VAT?? I've found a deal for a R 5 door, manual. 15000 miles/pa nil deposit, tax, insurance and all servicing included, £406/month over three years.
Good deal?
Thanks.

Manual 5dr Golf R £275pcm total (deposit stretched over term)
Insurance £275 (£23pcm)
Servicing Budget £250 (£10.40pcm)
Tyres Budget £350 (£14.60pcm)
Total cost £323pcm, although I'm hoping I won't need to replace the tyres based the wear rates others have experienced which will bring it down to £308PCM.
So I guess yours isn't fantastic value, but it would be worry free motoring, and the deal I got is no longer available. One thing to consider is whether you have NCD built up, as that will likely disappear. Also, what happens if you leave, with a company car you'd just hand it back, I presume with a salary sacrifice you're responsible to continue the payments - would the costs suddenly jump when you don't get the tax breaks and are responsible for insurance?

That's very cheap. Are you a 60 year old optician living on Isle Man?
You may be surprised by how cheap the R insurance is, I certainly was! I went from a 2011 A4 S-Line Spec Ed Avant (2.0 Tdi 143bhp) to my 2014 Golf R DSG 5-dr and my insurance went down from £300 per year to £230. The Golf's crash prevention radar thingy seemingly makes a lot of difference.Morning everyone,
New to the forums so be gentle .
I have just ordered a Golf R on lease i got the following deal.
Golf R DSG 5 door
Discovery Navigation
Solid White
1 payment up front.
24 x £350
I have not got my delivery date yet but the dealer has told me it should be around December - January. Does that lead time seem correct?

For those leasing for the first time, a 2 year lease is 1 x lump (3 or 6 months rental normally) followed by 23 regular payments (not 24).
My Golf R DSG with metallic and a couple of low cost extras inc maintenance and tyres was a 3 + 23 @ £292.58 inc VAT - total of £7607.08. As a business, I can reclaim half the VAT leaving a net cost of £6973.15, which I claim against my tax.

Mine is £7400 including vat and car tax. Excludes maintenance. 10k miles pa.
5 door dsg in white. No other extras. So far not missed any extras.
It's not a car that I find I drive for the sake of driving but it's a good car to pootle around in and to make progress on B roads. It's a bit disappointing on an A road as thats where it feels less powerful in my view. Once you get to about 60 it seems to struggle a bit. But maybe that's cos I'm used to my 1100kg 423 bhp Cerbera with updated diff, gear box, fly wheel etc that is an animal and wants to accelerate and accelerate etc
