Is it still 5 months for delivery? Looking at an estate maybe, but what has quickest delivery. Also like the look of a Leon Cupra but costs a bit more for less as standard.

My hatch order went in last week and I've been told it will be 6 months. G2L cars are in stock though.

6 Months! Aww crap. My car has 4 months left on its lease. Thats the only annoying thing about leasing, joining one up with another when they end!

Yeah, it is a ridiculously long lead time. With any luck I have timed it perfectly, my current Golf GTD is due to go back at the end of April but I intend to give it back sometime in March, hopefully to coincide with the R arriving.

Not really. If the car you are getting is late then that is ideal, if not then work out an early handback cost on your present car - it will be about 50 percent of the monthly leases from experience on my last one.

I've read that twice now thinking it was me, but surely you've got that wrong

Yeah, his car goes back in 4 months, lead time on new one is 6 months. 2 months in a rental maybe?

one year in next month and i've enjoyed the experience. can't help but wonder where i am going to go from here when it has to go back..

tempted by the new focus RS but head says Audi RS3. i know one thing, the next one has to be AWD - pulling out of T junctions has never been so much fun smile

Ok this is the internet so everyone is wrong. Ring up lease broker, see if you can extend the current car if needed OR hand it back early (as I did in real life).

Only on PCP or HP, not on a lease.

I'd get in quick and order a new car / agree lending terms before the downgrading of vw'so credit rating etc

So, despite being told the lead time was 5 - 6 months when I ordered my car 3 weeks ago, I have just got my Stage 3 confirmation stating a build week commencing 26th October. Allowing for 5 weeks following that I'll have the car by the end of November, so 11 - 12 weeks from order. Not happy at all.

Sorry, I should have explained. I have a leased car going back next year. I ordered the R (again, leased) because I was told the lead time was 6 months, coinciding perfectly with my GTD going back. I'm delighted it's on track, but I'm not sure how much leeway there is on delaying the delivery.

Just phone the supplying dealer up and say that you don't need it till next year.

Panic over – the dealer gave the lease company the wrong tracking number! Everything is now on schedule.

Was hoping to join the fold when I contacted a popular lease company on here and they informed me that they had a cancelled order and needed to deliver it to a customer this month. They said they would give me an exceptional price. By that I got excited thinking it would at least match their competitors, and maybe be similar to the original deals on this car. The figure they came back with was for the best part £1,000 more than not only their competitors, but also their own advertised rate on the website, unbelievable! I questioned the figures being right and the response was effectively, don't want to debate it, price is what it is, won't find cheaper (even though I can, from them!!!), yes or no, we'll find another customer otherwise! Bit disappointed in them tbh, they could have handled it much better, so if any decent deals come up in the future, I'll be leasing elsewhere.

Spoke to my usual lease guy today and he thinks he knows of a red car in stock somewhere.

I will hopefully be in a position to order next week but looking online the prices seem to have jumped up recently?

I don't know the exact spec yet (or the price) but has anyone ordered recently and can give me a guide to what they're paying?

I'm looking at 3+23 @ 10k miles per year fwiw.

Mine has just been delivered. It was in stock so i have paid a little more than the deal I was offered on a customer order. 5dr DSG and Met paint - 282 inc vat on a 6 + 23 8000 miles per year 6.3p per mile for excess mileage
