For that money you can have a 335d M sport on an 18k pa, 2yr deal

Scirocco R is cheap at the moment and worth considering as an alternative to the Golf R. £2400 deposit and £179.99 a month - http://www.centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk/vehicle/c...

£6720 over the total term inc admin fee.

I was playing around with lots of variables at the time, this is the one that came up first.

It was from central, however, BMW would match and no admin fee payable.

It was a while ago though.

Speak to BMW themselves they have some cracking deals if you're flexible with models and engine variants. And they also seem to have "factory funded" type deals to get them sold

Similar to my deal but 2 years later.

I know this thread has been quiet for a year now but hopefully someone who has owned a Golf R for 2 years can help.
I have just ordered a lease Golf R Estate over 2 years 20000 miles and not sure about taking out a service pack at vw (£299). Have people found it needs 2 dealer services/oil change in the 2 years 20000 miles before it gets returned? Or has anyone got away with only 1 service? (without returning the car early)
Thanks if anyone can help with this.

Personally I wouldn't bother. You might get away with no service being needed and even if you don't take it, it will be less than 299 if you need a single service.

me too, however the tyre cover was worth it - had 4 new tyres during the 2 year 20,000 mile term. could have been expensive and it cost me £6 per month

Thanks for the info guys, I think I will leave dealer service cost then and hopefully only pay for the 1 service. I will also budget for at least a couple of tyres. Other than that should be a fun car.....Can't wait!

I took delivery of my new R 7.5 DSG hatch last weekend and have been enjoying brief bursts of what it can do (it's still running in) but christ on a bike it's quick compared to what I've been used to...!

Let it warm up, properly.
Come to a complete stop.
Put the car in 'race'
turn traction control off
Gearbox in sport
left foot HARD on the brake
Right foot mash throttle
Car will hold around 4000rpm
Hold on tight, keep throttle mashed, let foot off brake

Launch control never failed to put a smile on my face smile

oh and there's a little tray under the drivers seat smile

congrats on the new ride...

Did you buy outright / or on lease? I am looking for one on a 24 month lease deal.

Would appreciate any recommendations if you have any?

Thanks

Cheers, I've found the little trays under the seats, very useful (although I'd trade them both to sit lower in the car, it feels like my Focus ST did where you're 'on' it. That said, the 330Ci was much lower and it was only when people commented how low down you were that I thought about it. I'm getting used to it. Is the TC 'single-stage' or a 'press-and-hold' two-stage to turn it off? Only asking as the 330 had 'off' and 'oh, you don't want anything' off which was a press and hold on the DTC button.

Your S3 looks fab by the way; I actually had a quote for the S4 but it was a more than I wanted to commit to financially (I wanted to stay around the £300/mo mark).

I ran loads of quotes and numbers and decided to lease on a 9+23 8k/yr. The deal on the hatch was nowhere near as good as the ones which were doing the rounds on the estates but I just didn't need or want an estate version. I also wanted something from stock so accepted I would pay a little more over the course of the lease but it's for a car I want and in a time-frame I wanted it.

I put down £2800 and pay £311/mo fully maintained and with metallic as the only option. The maintenance was about £7 a month so if I go through a set of tyres over the course of the lease (and it's highly likely I will) then it will save me a big wedge; the maintenance works out at £224 over the term and that wouldn't even buy a pair of Potenzas, let alone a set of four...

I went through Tim Stringer at Kew Vehicle Leasing and he was great to deal with: https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/independent...

There were cheaper cars around and I've no doubt I could've gotten a 'better' deal on something else but this thing is putting a huge smile on my face in a way I don't think many other cars would've done.
