Just ordered an R to replace a 335d M Touring..... hope it lives up to the positive reading in this thread. It's taken me 5 days to read it.

I haven't warmed to the car. It has the Performance pack..... very fast in a straight line but lumpy around town. Front end seems heavy due to XDrive & steering is only any good in 'Sport' mode. The XDrive is fantastic though in the wet. It isn't a 'fun' car & not intended to be, but a good daily. Averages 42 mpg over 22K miles.

Let it warm up, properly.
Come to a complete stop.
Put the car in 'race'
turn traction control off
Gearbox in sport
left foot HARD on the brake
Right foot mash throttle
Car will hold around 4000rpm
Hold on tight, keep throttle mashed, let foot off brake

Launch control never failed to put a smile on my face smile
1800 miles on the clock, had a play with launch control... Oh it's fun!!!

Had my R a year now and I've still not tried Launch Control!

I really must give it a go!
