I am very happy I chose the manual box and 18s... The gearbox is superb, and the 18" wheels are big enough and with 40 profile tyres fill the arches nicely, looks are a personal preference.

Out of those two options, manual and wheels for me every time - DSG removes too much driver involvement for me, and I don't like the 18's. Very subjective choice though, whichever you pick in sure you'll enjoy!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies. I had to choose between those exact options unfortunately. Because G2L only have saved quotes available I could not spec my own order up. I really didn't want to miss out on the deal so had to pick one of those closest to my choices.

I ended up with the DSG and 12K per annum. I really think I will do more miles than 10K and don't want to be in to the high excess charges. I also have not got DCC so didn't want the ride to be too hard which I was worried about on the 19's??. I had an M3 with the SMG box a few years back and loved it so happy with the DSG (although I don't do much in towns these days).

I hope I made the right choice! I am sure I will love it regardless. Seems such good value compared to others I have considered, especially fully maintained.

They reckon Late July delivery. What do you guys think the likely hood of that is?

Thanks.

Good choice - late July sounds reasonable to me.

Late July will be tight, but you should be ok.

Can anyone tell me if any of these good deals are around any more or am I too late?

Got my order confirmation on 3rd April, after a small amount of chasing up LPGO. I Had finished cooling off on 31st March and got sceptical after the muted few days of limbo....but other than those few days everything has moved along as expected so far. Still no build date or info from dealer, but the dealer advised that this info could possibly take a few weeks to filter through. Hope this helps anyone in that limbo stage.

5 dr, DSG. Lapis blue. No other extras. 10k pa.
3+23 @ £312 pm.

Mine was from gateway2lease but I think the quote I confirmed today ended at 5pm. Worth a try though. They still seem to have the odd saved quote about.

Hi All. Just had a thought, I have gone for the DSG box but don't have DCC. Does that mean I won't have ability to select a drive 'mode' like comfort, race, normal etc. Whilst I know this wont effect the suspension or ride as such (with no DCC), will it not change the gear change speed or other aspects of the car?

Also - In my current 3 series, I can play Spotify via bluetooth through the car. Will I be able to do the same in the Golf without the advanced phone connection?

Not that I will care when I am listening to the engine compared to my current diesel tractor smile

Thanks all - can't wait for the car now!

Race, normal & eco are available on every car as standard and affect throttle response, exhaust tone etc, DCC includes comfort and adds dampener adjustment to all modes.

Spotify works if you select a playlist on your phone and leave it playing, if you interact with it via steering wheel controls it goes into meltdown (so I've heard)

Exactly right on both counts...

I just tried to send a credit proposal to LPG for a quote reference a friend got, and they've returned it saying quotes are not transferrable between two different names? confused

They also claim that the 28 day period includes returning forms, credit check and cooling off period, and that the quote would expire by then. Surely, any old quotes floating around are as good as useless in that case?

That's odd. I used G2L but was even able to change mine yesterday to the different quote I posted above.

Yeah that 28days has cooling off period, so if you cool of on day 27 your okay. But most quotes must be a week or two old by now so would have thought it wouldn't be possible.

Got a call today, orders gone through with vw chesterfield and been told end of July!!!

Can't wait now :-)

Just got mine confirmed , just need to get the order number so I can track it on vw's website!

Does anyone know if I can choose the supplying dealer? Mate is manager of one in Glasgow and it would be easier for me to go to him!

Confirmed today! 3dr Lapis Blue 15k per annum :-) (lots to play with). Sad that Dynaudio isn't available til much later this year though. Only got to listen to Barry White through the standard system on a test drive... Maybe not the best demo of it!!

Are Revo doing stage 1's on these yet? (Joking!!!)

Crikey!

I've enquired a price on a 5dr manual at 25k per annum ...

Guessing the lead in on these will be mega though given what's been said about other VAG products?
25k miles per annum? wow, what do you do?
