Lease on Golf R
Discussion
You couldn't, for a time at least, have 19s and sunshine roof, on the GTi - I read because the ride was too hard and caused problems cracking the glass, though not sure if that's true. I believed you could have 19s and pano roof on the 'R' though.
As to blue chilli, I asked for a quote back in Feb from them, and they couldn't believe me when I told them what LPG were offering, so forget about them - their service was rubbish anyway.

Is everyone who's getting the R on a lease purchasing GAP insurance chaps?? The lease broker I've gone through have offered me Finance GAP insurance, with a £10k payout cap.
I thought GAP insurance normally paid out the difference between the insurers payout of the current market value f a car and the original purchase price (eg, the Golf R costs £31k, some dummy t-bones me and it's a write-off 6 months into the lease, I insurer says they'll only payout £26k for the car, so the GAP insurance pays out £5k total, from the possible £10k max for this situation).
How does Finance GAP work? I mean, if the same situation arises and the R is a write-off (God forbid!!), do they just pay off the remaining amounts for the finance agreement? For example, if my contact was over 24 months, I was paying 300 p/m, and 12 months into the agreement the car is written off - that leaves 12 months outstanding at 300 p/m which totals £3600. Do they just payout the £3600 to the finance company? Do I need to worry about the value of the payout for the actual car by my main fully-comprehensive insurance company, or is they payout value for the actual vehicle none of my financial concern at this point, only the finance agreement?
Any help appreciated, thanks!!

It seems that the "R" ship has sailed. I spoke to blue chilli cars and was offered 3+36 @ £453 : (
I don't know if that's a good deal or not. The car does look pretty good and the performance looks to be impressive but I don't know if it's £453 good! In saying that, I'm paying £399 for my M135i and I sometimes think the same thing...although the quality of the interior is immense imo.Hi, first post!
I managed to get one of the old g2l quotes just before they expired, ordered a couple of weeks ago. 3 door dsg, lapis blue, vienna leather, 315
6+23.Been told build week 26 by the dealer (Listers Stratford) so should have late July early August. Think theres going to be two or three around the Glasgow area now from what I've seen on this thread. Just need to sell my current car now!!!

Nice! I've got manual keyless with the white and I'm paying 20ish more a month maintained, I bartered with G2L a fair bit and it's the best they could do, I'm okay with that I missed the best deals, would of been like 305ish for that spec prior! never mind! can't wait! been giving Aug for mine also.I managed to get one of the old g2l quotes just before they expired, ordered a couple of weeks ago. 3 door dsg, lapis blue, vienna leather, 315

Is that £315 p/m, inc VAT? How many miles per annum?

I would imagine that is inc vat and on 10000!
Damn, that's not bad. I went with 15k miles, 3dr DSG. I'd use 10k for commuting so need some for play!I ordered almost 3 weeks ago but the VW order tracker still says 'with factory, being scheduled for production' ! Although I have heard it can jump stages due to lack of updating. Expecting July delivery, it's a painful wait haha!

Ahh ok, was starting to think my deal wasn't as good as I thought! But that makes sense. Will be nice to have bragging rights over all these GTi drivers :-)
