My sister has a 2005 Leon 1.6. Old shape.

The drivers door stopped unlocking yesterday by the remote, but all the other doors will still unlock.

The button inside the drivers door also wont unlock it but unlocks and locks all the others.

If you pull the inside handle the door will open and it will unlock via the key.

All the other electrics operated from the drivers door switches work fine.

Is this a common problem?

I'm going to strip the door down this weekend and check for damages wires or poor connections.

Has anyone had this before?

I have a 2007 leon with the same problem at the moment, although it is very intermittent.
I rang the dealers and was told it would cost a diagnostic to try to find the issue, I declined their offer for the moment.
The auto door locking mechanism at above 10mph, my drivers door doesn't lock properly the first time after setting off like the rest of the doors either.
Would also be interested if anyone else has had the same problem

try putting vag com on it and see if any faults come up, might clear it but i have a dodgy drivers side rear lock as sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't which i think can happen and needs a new mechanism

It will likely be the door control module (bolted to the window winder motor) or the lock mechanism, on our 2007 Altea it was the latter.

The door skin isn't fun to take apart / put back together so I had replacements for both at hand when I did it, the lock mech was ~£35 new off Ebay and the control module I got second hand also off Ebay for not much.
