Hi
Just picked up a seo 13 Audi a6 sline 2.0 tdi and I really like it. I've always had audio but I've been hankering after something with a bit more go. Has anyone got the 3.0 tdi bi turbo in the a6?? Any thoughts on it?

I had a 3.0tdi one for a couple of weeks. Brilliant car, plenty of go, I had a manual and it felt like it should be on an auto box!

Chairman of one of my JV's had his new A6 biturbo auto delivered last month. I had a go....its quick, noticeably quicker than my single turbo 3.0tdi A6

There's a video of one on YouTube destroying a Porsche 997c2s ,quite impressive stuff.

I have had an A6 Avant Bi-tdi for around 18 months and have to say that the engine and gearbox are great. The overall economy isn't the best for a 3 litre diesel (having come from 3 straight 6 BMW 3 litre diesels) it's been around 30 MPG for the 15,000 miles we've done, however as others have suggested, it is pretty quick and even sounds actually quite good with "trick" exhaust, but there's no getting away from the fact that it's a big heavy car, perhaps this accounts for economy when pressing on! I must say I've been quite tempted with a change to the new RS6 recently, though I suspect real world fuel economy in that will be significantly worse! In summary a great all round car, if slightly ordinary.

HAd mine since January. I swapped out of a standard 245bhp3.0 l A6. I am really pleased. It has a lot more performance than the other car, sounds good, econemy is perfectly accepable for the performance. I'm getting 32 running round, 38 on a motorway run and towing the caterham the other day it returned me 33 on 400 miles trip. It's a big car, but for a daily drive and family wagon come dog baskett , bike carrier, tow car I can't think of a car i'd rather have, RS6 included.
I test drove both and picked the biturbo. 98% of the RS6 for 50% of the cost and a great deal less to run, by my calculations over 15Kmiles it'll use approx £2K less in fuel.

Had mine for 9 months, great car.

It goes like stink and I have just managed 42 mpg on a 300 mile run up to the Lake District. I agree with everything RGambo said 98% RS6 50% of the cost

Incidentally I found the write up for the biTDi on the Top Gear website the other day....they seem to like it too!

I was very tempted to upgrade the current 3.0TDI quattro to a BiTurbo but in the end I had to make the jump to the RS6... b0llocks to the cost... we only live once..

Enjoy the test drive, BiTurbo a great car!

An RS6 would be totally pushing the boat out but a man can dream.... I don't think the bi-turbo will disappoint though...

My mate has a BiTurbo and I really love it. It's seems like such a great all round package. The drive felt engaging and sporty and it's certainly quick. I had a little race with him a few weeks back with my C6 RS6 and to 60 there wasn't much in at, after that I really started to open a gap buy generally it was very impressive. I think he topped out at something like 125 on the closed course we were on ( wink ) and I got to something like 140.

With the right spec they look great and I was blown away by the noise the exhaust (speaker) made. When he pulled away from my house I could hear the diesel rattle at first but after the first 20 yards in genuinely sounded like an RS4.

If I had to get a company car then it would be a biturbo!
