I have recently purchased a 2003 LCR. I have noticed on the trip computer, when travelling 65 it returns 32MPG however when travelling at 80 its 45MPG. Is this my trip computer or is 80 a more economical speed to travel in this car? Surely this can't be right?

Thanks

Lloyd

Although it's a standard Cupra I get similar from my car at around 80. Of course throttle position, gradient etc matters.

Your trip computer is dreaming, gentle cruise gives low to mid 30's at the most and definitely not at 80+

My lcr only goes up to 36-37mpg when im doing 60mph. Any more and the mpg starts dropping. So i think yours must be hoping or you are barely touching throttle

yeah I did think that, thought I'd check see if anyone else has found this. Very strange as it sustains 47MPG for all the motorway - I wish!

i've only had mine for a few weeks and i can see 45 on instantaneous fuel consumption cruising on the motorway if i'm pointing downhill with a following wind, but definitely not sustained - average even on a long motorway journey the best i've seen is about 37 so far, and that's keeping it 75-80.

I've never seen a 1.8T give much better than this even in a little Polo etc.
