Part Number request: Audi Q7 Black Optic ACC Grille
Discussion
Well that wasn't easy to figure out lol
Two key bits of info you need in terms of PR codes to ID the right grill - 8T4 is the PR code for adaptive cruise, 4ZM is the PR code for 'black optics pack' or black styling pack in Audi brochure language, which in Etka translates to 'black - matt mouldings'
The grill featuring both those PR codes is part number 4L0 853 651H and colour code is VMZ
Just under £480 new from Audi - gulp!

Hi Adrian
Many thanks for your prompt reply.
Cheers for figuring that out, that's great - the price doesn't really surprise me.
Just a quick follow-up question please - the part number on my current chrome ACC grille is 4L0 853 651E
I assume that this difference in the last letter of the part number means the grille is still ACC but matte-black instead of the chrome?
The ACC grille has a heating element behind the number plate bracket which the normal grille does NOT have - this is where I became unstuck as I purchased the normal black-styling pack grille without ACC thinking it would just be an issue of modifying the sensor mount placement to accommodate the ACC system's sensors - unfortunately it wasn't that simple and the heating element in my current chrome grille is glued firmly on and thus not transferable to the non-ACC black grille I bought. For the time being I have put the black non-ACC grille on the vehicle, but I have left the ACC system unplugged as this heating element can't be transferred from the old chrome ACC-grille. I hope when I eventually plug it back in there won't be any issues with calibration or anything and system will just work as before..
Anyway in summary, I just want to be certain that the part number you kindly provided for the black optic grille does indeed contain this built-in heating element for the ACC system.
I hope that makes sense.
Cheers,
R

Hiya
That part number refers to an early 2011 model - part was dropped 1/1/12 and the replacement ends in H
It does have the 8T4 code so should be spot on
An Audi dealer or TPS should be able to confirm - if all else fails find a black edition with ACC for sale and use the registration for that, or the VIN, to confirm it's correct.

Thanks mate.
Sorry, what is TPS? I will speak to an Audi dealer and give them that part number.
In fact, you've very appropriately suggested what I have been trying to do - find a Q7 on the classifieds with ACC and the Black Styling Pack and use the registration when contacting the dealer. I have been pretty surprised, none seem to exist with this combination of options - I think ACC seems to be a pretty rare option and finding a used vehicle with the black styling pack as well on the same spec sheet seems to be well nigh on impossible..
Will speak to Audi with the part number you kindly provided and let you know.
Thanks for all the assistance.
Cheers.

No probs
TPS is Trade Parts Specialists aka VW UK parts wholesale - basically who the garage trade order from. Worth comparing prices as sometimes they can do better, assuming there's one near you and they'll sell to the public. My local one does.
If you speak to a switched on parts guy and explain what you're trying to achieve they'll be able to help - it's about 70:30 that sort of person or someone who will claim they can't identify a part without a chassis number because it's more than his job is worth!

Adrian,
You were spot on with part number buddy, cheers. The colour coding is also key to get the black styling pack version.
For future reference for other posters, these are the part numbers for an Audi Q7 (2011 onwards) covering various front grille options:
Black Optic Grille with ACC: 4L0 853 651H with colour code VMZ
Black Optic Grille without ACC: 4L0 853 651G with colour code VMZ
Chrome Grille with ACC: 4L0 853 651H with colour code T94
Cheers,
