They are expensive but Audi are offering some contribution with decent interest rates... Maybe worth looking at the C63, your getting some good deals at the moment, the M3 is going to stay top dollar for a while I suspect.

I went with sepang, 20" titanium v spokes (had rotors on my S3 so fancied something different) and black optics. I think it looks pretty good.

Thanks for all the feedback. I can't understand why BMW won't make an M3 estate as there must be demand for it from enthusiasts wanting driving thrills, performance and space for a labrador.
That's one of the reasons I went for a B7 RS4. I'd seriously contemplate a B8 but the almost universal criticism amongst it gets the motoring press over the B7 has rather put me off. Still tempted though smile

You know it bemuses me the impression that it gets slated in the press.....on here it seems if harris or clarkson doesn't like it, its st. Overall impressions from the UK press have been really good....But people just remember the negative ones. Copy paste from google:

Such good looking cars, V spoke definitely my wheel of choice on one.

Steve Sutcliffe seemed to 'get' the car and its intended market better.

I can't imagine Audi caring for a minute that it won't drift like an M3 if it fits its purpose and the people that buy it, like it.

I reckon I'm pretty much the target market for the car (late 30's, family, active lifestyle) and I couldn't care less if you can drift it around corners or not
For me, I need a car I can lug bikes/kids etc around, it look good, sound good, and provide AWD traction for overtaking in the wet with my kids in the car without the risk of tc cutting power or the back end over taking the front

I have (or an actually between) a weekend you for drifting everywhere and having the fine edge of driving dynamics

I'm looking forward to RS4 #3 arriving for me sept 2nd smile

I'm test driving a RS4 at Epson Audi tomorrow. Having searched the forum, there seem to be very few owners comments on the latest model. Is the reflective of low numbers or something else?
How did your test drive go?

see quote 3 "Never meet your heroes, you'll only be disappointed. Without doubt one of the most disappointing test drives ever. It just felt like a well built estate car with a complete lack of character. Simply not a patch on the C63AMG Estate driving experience."

Still mulling a c63amg.........currently driving to Cornwall enjoying my DMS tuned 310bhp , 4-wheel drive, V6 turbo, paddle shifting gearboxed.................

LR Disco4......

It's all his fault

for making me sell this

Bit late to the party

Picked mine up yesterday, 300 miles already - Down shifts in sport result in epic sounds

368 miles down, consumed 18 gallons, c20 mpg

Lovely interior, great motorway cruiser (all be it frustrating not to be able to stretch its legs)

Great point and shoot on A roads coming out of roundabouts, flick gear lever down and it pops into sport and then sounds like a NASCAR, downshifts accompanied with a great pop bang and blip of revs.

Wife loves it too, easy to drive, fast when it needs to be and subtle. (So much cooler than a black RRS etc)

As a fast family daily drive - it's epic puts speed on post 60 MPH as fast as any N/A 911 I've ever driven (never been in a GT 911).

The dynamic steering is a bit weird, really light at ultra slow speeds, but heavy above, not impossible to get used to.

As a sports car it may be a bit too refined, subtle, easy.....

PS had a tiny moment in standing water on the motorway, not what I expected (heavy car & 4WD), guess to be expected on ultra low profile 20" tyres.

Sounds like you're having fun, though!

Tyre profile and rim diameter won't affect aquaplaning : but tread depth and tyre width make a big difference. A 2CV on skinny tyres would have sailed through without noticing...

Not sure that 4WD helps much in that situation, either.

The tiny moment happened at 70 mph on a rain soaked motorway, years of driving various Golf GTI/r32 and my wife's disco had made be a bit complacent with regards standing water.

All be it no where near as bad a 911/bmw etc The RS4 reacted to the water slightly more violently than I expected.
As you said mainly down to the footprint and tread depth of tyres.

First time is laugh out loud funny.

First time you demo it to a passenger you'll be crying/laughing wink

First time you demo it to a girl you'll be creased up in the footwell wetting yourself!
