Hi

Just wondering what options I have for increasing the power on a B7 S4 semi auto box convertible. 4.2 V8 engine.

I have heard my options are limited, is this true?

Thanks

Semi auto? It either tiptronic auto or manual. Your only option for a real power increase is to supercharge it. APR and MRC have kits for them. You can remap them but the gains arent huge being non turbo.

Yes that's it. Tiptronic auto I meant. I never know what to call it.

Basically not the manual in B7 S4 form.

So remapping isn't worth the cost as gains very small?

I'm thinking:

Start with a ecu remap, cat back exhausts and air filter

Next, downpipes and work on cooling

Phase 3 - handelling !!! Suspension and breaks

Lastly forced induction?

Try vagtech.co.uk

You'd be surprised by the grin factor with an exhaust alone; you may find you stop caring about it not being the single fastest car in the world.

I'd just go for a resonated exhaust (non-res with auto box drones badly at a cruise) and enjoy roof down use with added soundtrack. Unless you want to get into spending £10k+ on a supercharger kit it's really not worth the aggro and given it's an auto it will have a limited market to sell on
