You've just moderated out 95 per cent of the content of PistonHeads.

That's outrageous. I would have demanded a replacement car.
I think you should stay out of this. It was your cousin El Guano that caused all the trouble to start with.
You're suggesting that the dealer should have told the OP to clear off and stop being such a cry-baby?
A bird shat on his car, dude. I was like "whoa, that's like Hiro freakin' shima", brah.

A lot of the replies in the this thread suggest that the standard of customer service has dropped so low in the UK that, that to expect absolutely nothing is perfectly fine.

Sorry but to expect a clean car is hardly asking the world is it?

Why is it not ok to have expectations?

In that case you better stop what you are doing, there is no point being alive.

I think if a wash and vac are part of the deal you should get it , but I know people who will specifically ask for a dealer not to do this they are so scared of the gritty sponge etc

And if it is washed do the dealers then have a responsibility to stand guard over the car or wrap it in cling film until such time as you pick it up, really please get real

The dealer in the case made a fare response for some thing beyound his reasonable control.

If someone had to go and fetch the car for the customer and saw the bird st on the car surely its common courtesy just to wash it off??

Where have you got that from? OP does not mention car being fetched by dealer staff, only that OP discovered the bird st.

No. What's changed is that when a bird sts on your car and the dealership apologises and arranges to fix it you go on the fking internet and complain about poor service. It's ridiculous.

Surely would have been far easier for the dealer to have rectified it in the first place as opposed to someone having to complain to them first, its not like they offered to do it without him complaining.

You just proved my point correct. 0 Expectations in the UK due to the complete lack of service you receive all round, you've got used to it, thats the problem!

There seems to be a recurring OP profile: long time lurker with relatively low post count.

And why exactly is a car dealer responsible for wildlife? Sure if they see it they'll probably do something about it. But the way the OP and you carry on it's the same as if the dealer had keyed the car and left it.

Who ever sees this as a big issue needs to get a life!! S#it happens which is out of anybodies control and that's life.

If my car was an Aston or Ferrari and this happened in a main dealer then I might be disappointed that the service department hadn't checked my car was clean before it was handed back to me and cleaned it again if needed.

An Audi or VW is an everyday car and they are not an exclusive car. They are ten to the penny and I'm hoping to purchase an Audi A4 next year as they are a great car.

FFS there are people dying from lack of food and water all over the world and silly subjects like this are getting air time!!

Rant over smile

LOL! This thread is so funny. Three pages so far, about a car getting sh@t on. I've been driving for 33 years, and should now be a gibbering wreck, because of the amount of times my cars have been adorned with bird poop.
