Advice on buying A5 2.0TFSI

Hi there,

I'm looking to buy a used Audi A5. Either a 1.8 or 2.0TFSI.

I've read a lot about the heavy oil consumption issues in these models, and wanted to know, how do I know which models are affected?

A particular one I have seen has an 11 plate 2.0TFSI 180. Is this likely to be affected?

Any advice is much appreciated.

I think from about 2010 onwards they are generally ok. I've got a 2012 2.0 TFSi and it's fine. The wife's got a 2010 S3 and I've never had to top that up. Both cars have done over 30,000 miles
