After 3 days and 200 miles I've got the following errors.....

Airbag
Start stop
Auto hold
Acc and front assist
Electronic parking break

Not the best start to ownership....... waiting for it to be taken away as we speak.

Had all the connectors checked, battery disconnect and reconnect, vw assist couldn't sort it out so it's at the dealers now for repair....

You're not supposed to track it early doors!!

The car will be fine, just software glitches, don't worry!

It had done a short journey, sedately drive, parked up for an hour then the faults appeared. Then they disappeared and were replaced by an airbag error, then just parking break error, then they all came back again.... This was after turning the engine off and restarting. The AA man read the car for fault codes and couldn't find any... Lucky I live 5 miles from the vw garage.

Sound like a software issue to me too.

That said .......

Did you have ur I phone in the glove box? ?

I have known one case when the gateway module thats behind the glove box suffered from some sort of Electromagnetic interference, due to the I phone in the glove box been very close to the module.

Fix was to rap uber expensive, space age, gold foil arround the gateway.

That is very unlucky it seems.

Hopefully it is something minor as such a number of things have gone wrong.

Hope it gets sorted ASAP as they are lovely cars.

Nothing in the glove box, they were looking at the car this afternoon but I've heard nothing back, hopefully I'll have some news tomorrow.... The service guy did say... Oh registered on the 5th go August, that's a new one. They haven't had a MK7 R in yet, I hope they can diagnose and fix quickly.

So.... It turns out the waste pipe from the air conditioning unit was draining away into the ecu.... Not through the floor... So new ecu being fitted tomorrow and I should be back in business :-)

That's pretty poor for a new car really! Did they attempt to do any more root cause analysis to find out why the pipe was doing that? Can only assume it was a manufacturing defect I guess.

Doesn't seem very good really does it !

I wonder if they do better on the electronics for the Audi driverless car car VAG is foisting onto our stupid government . I can see many piles of scrap with VAG cars in the middle of the pile!

But I dare say VAG and PSA will have brown enveloped thier way into the European Parliament again to get this through , just like they did with the clean derv con that was taken hook line and sinker . Surprise surprise derv is nasty toxic stuff.
