dealer cant order new A6 ??

Was interested in getting a new A6 and asked for rough lead time but when dealer tried to get one from he came back and said there were not slots/allocations left this year due to the new ultra A6 being booked up.

Does that sound correct? just surprised me that effectively i can not spec up and buy a new A6 .

Had the same conversation with my local Audi dealer two weeks ago, they told me if you are wanting an A6 with the S-Tronic box fitted then Audi are not taking any new orders but if you wanted a manual gearbox then build slots were still available, depends what spec you enquired about, i did contact other dealerships and they told me the same.

I have a new A6 Ultra- Stronic and have reading about premature gearbox failures, I have a feeling that's why the orders have been canceled.

Heard at the weekend they are stopping this run, dealers expecting face-lift model to be announced - no more orders on current model.
