Decent VW Independent in North London

Took my wife's Mk V Gti in for it's annual service and MOT today....AirCon isn't orking despite being re-gassed earlier in the year. VW main dealer quoted me £850 fpr a new compressor and also said the front suspension bushes needed replacing soon(another £350).

Clearly neither of these items are MOT failures so want to take the car in to someone for a second opinion.

We live in NW3 but happy to take the car further for a decent (Bucks/Herts as well as North London) and reliable garage!

Mark Tempest Autocentre in Welwyn (Herts) might be worth a go if not too far from you. They seem to know these cars quite well.

Got a quote for them, they were only 10% cheaper than a VW main dealer. Quite expensive!
