We ordered a 1.4 ACT hatch at the weekend, got a great deal on it. They are nice cars, good to drive, very well specced and the interior is now a decent quality

I had one as a hire car in Germany. Really impressed with it.

I haven't tried the ST but the normal hatchback is a properly sorted car. It doesn't quite have the finesse of a Golf but its a great drive and very well equipped with the Tech pack.

1.4 TSI is the engine to go for, its quite staggering how good the throttle response is.

I've driven both the 1.6 and 2.0 diesel in SE trim. I found it a nice all round drive.Interior trim is a little dull and some of the switchgear didn't feel very robust but otherwise found it a very agreeable car.

Thanks all , confirms my thoughts.

Last time I got the vat free deal , plus 6% friends and family , so hoping to get a repeat of that deal , or something close to it!

Get an idea of discount through drivethedeal before discussing price, I got £3,300 off through a local dealer by using that as a guide. It does include £1,000 discount for taking finance, but think there are ways around that if you are a cash buyer.

Great cars, I test drove the 1.4T and was pretty impressed with its turn of pace.

I went for a 5 month old Exeo Sport tech instead (as it was better equipped, £6k cheaper and i didn't have to wait).

My dad's looking to replace his A4 Avant. Golf 1.4 TSI is high on his list so I suggested he look at the Leon as it seems to be a case of more for less.
Anyone know what discounts are like for them at the moment, or of any particularly good PCP options? I imagine he'll want the 5-door, possibly in Cupra trim.

My PCP deal on a 1.4 ACT FR 5dr hatch was based on a price of £17,600, £500 deposit and £285 pm for 36 months based on 15k miles a year. That was before options, I added convenience pack , spare wheel and panoramic roof, taking it to about £305pm.

The residuals are not quite as strong as the golf but the initial discount and lower interest rate of about 4.2% makes the Leon cheaper I think although I didn't do a direct pcp comparison.

We've just ordered an ST FR with the 1.4TSI ACT engine and tech pack this weekend to replace our ageing Altea FR TDi. Our local dealer matched the DriveTheDeal price which I was pleasantly surprised about and we ended up getting ~£3600 off list price so I suspect now is a good time to be ordering with the end of the quarter coming up.

For us it was a toss up between the ST FR and an Octavia Elegance Estate with the same basic engine, which from DtD prices are within £50 of each other. Both drive really nicely and share a lot of the same interior switchgear etc, the Octavia has slightly more space and a couple of extra cubby holes / pockets although both have ample room with cavernous boots.

The things that swayed us was the kit list on the Leon is marginally better than the Octavia (LED headlights, front as well as rear parking sensors, folding mirrors, visual parking display), it comes with the ACT engine which is marginally more powerful/economical and in the £20/year rather than £110 tax bracket, plus the projected residuals are also marginally in the Leon's favour. One final decider was that SEAT have 0% finance on cars when you pay 50% deposit and although Skoda are also offering 0% PCP, they won't get close to the DtD prices if you want to use it so unless its an outright cash purchase or you finance it separately it will end up costing about £1400 more.

Sounds like you got a cracking deal! What colour did you go for? Have you got an estimated delivery date? Mine is being built middle of October so should be in the UK early November.
