Going to look at a 2.0 tfsi TT tomorrow. Have read multiple stories of when the cambelt needs to be changed. The dealer who has the car has said it does not need changing until 120,000miles which is what it says in the handbook.. Is this correct?

5 years or 75,000 miles; whichever is the sooner.

It has 72,000miles on and is 8 years old.. I asked if it had been changed and he said they don't need it till 120,000miles so im not sure how to go about it with regards to the deal as the handbook says 120,000miles... wobble

Tell him to call an Audi dealer and ask. It's well over due so if he won't do it or account for it find another one (unless the car is particularly special, of course). Audi only sold about 7 trillion of these wink

As above its definitely due the belt change, only buy if you can negotiate that into the deal.

Spoke to Audi. The guys not listening to me so I'm moving on. I've spotted a very tasty looking Mk1 Quattro Sport which I'm going to look at!
