Buying an Audi A4 2004 which has a scuffed interior, particularly around the door handles and on the radio buttons. I am questioning this as the car is meant to have done 60k but interior looks like a lot more. Does anyone know if this is normal on this model/age?

I've seen online that the A4's have a bubbling/easily scratched interior - can anyone verify that?

B6/7 interiors are pretty hard wearing, mine had no marks at all when i sold it at 7 years old so I'd suggest it may have been to the moon and back or trashed as a fleet pool car, or both.

I had a C6 S6 2006. It had 100,000 miles on and no wear on any buttons. Seen a similar C6 A6 with higher miles and no scuffs either.

Good to know. Here's link to what I found on another forum but I'm bit suspect of the wear-and-tear at 60k but it is 10 years old.

I've had 4 A4s and none of them were marked inside. The last one I sold with 85k was immaculate.

I would also check the front wings for rust bubbles as these are notoriously bad for it.

I've seen it on both my B6s and B7s.

It is what it is, there could be many reasons why it is worn they way it is, 1 of which is, its been clocked. If you don't like it, just doon't buy it. there are plenty of them out there.

my A4 2004 has had a gentle life with me, but the radio on off looks a little tired and the drivers side heating adjustment ( blue) has colour spreading. I managed to get Audi to replace both front wings on mine in January this year under warranty as there were rust bubbles on both sides. Done without any fuss!!

I had a 2001 A4 (B6) which had been previously owned by a woman.

The headlamp switch was badly scratched, as were all the radio buttons.

There were also some marks around the climate control.

Basically, the black pain on the various buttons had been scraped off.

It can only have been caused by long fingernails. Perhaps the car you're looking at has been owned / predominantly driven by a woman?

It had done 95k when I got it.

Yup, pointy finger nails take the soft touch finish off in no time.

Also check the roof seams for corrosion, both sides of my 2005 A4 have problems. Not very impressed at all and Audi seem to deny that rusting has ever happened in the history of planet earth.

Yep, on our 10 yr old A6 with 70k miles the worst looking control was the central locking interior control as the mrs insisted on locking the car whenever she drove off by stabbing the lock button. Looked like it'd been shot at!

When I noticed how bad it was looking I enabled auto locking.

If the car you're looking at drives well and it's going to be used for family duties it doesn't rule it out in my book, but if you'd prefer it mint and will keep it that way there's plenty of others out there

I've 'bodged' a couple of cheapy part exchanges with leather paint to put the black back and stickers from ebay.

Fine on window switches etc but obviously will blank out the illumination on climate/stereo buttons.
