Hi people,
I have a Seat Altea XL Copa which has the built in satnav but the maps are out of date and also the speeds, so it shows the wrong speeds. Is there anyway I can get it updated?

Do you know what system it is?

RNS310,RNS315 or RNS510?

I managed to update the sat nav data and system firmware on the RNS310.

Sounds like an RNS 315 (aka SEAT Media System 2.2) if its a Copa. I've got the same unit in my Golf but unsure how to update. It stores its maps on onboard storage rather than CD/ SD like the RNS 310.

I think you have to buy thge correcy map disc and it copies it to the hard drive of the unit. About 150 quid IIRC

if its a 315 then yeh you have to buy the disc i'm afraid.

If its a 310 then I can send you the link to the firmware update guide I wrote a few years ago and also link you to the map files.

Hi,

I know this has been dead for a while but could anyone walk me through how to check which system I'm running?
All I have been able to find in the system is the current map version (western europe 4.0)

My car is a 2013 Seat Altea.

Any help would be much appreciated smile

That looks like the SEAT version of the RNS315 unit. You can verify which unit it is by holding down the setup key to access a service menu. In there look at versions. If it’s the 315 model you will see 5 information lines. If it’s the older 310 model there will only be 3 lines of information. You can also check which map version you are presently using in that menu.

You’ll be able to find a SD card to update the maps for about £35. The latest version for the RNS315 is version 12 which has only been out a few months. Avoid the V10 and V11 updates apps they aren’t stable in UK models and cause the headunit to reset frequently.
The RNS310 is up to version 11.
