Morning all,

My wife's 2013 Q3 is booked in for its first service. C19k miles.

Audi tell me that for my £259 they will graciously change the oil and filters.

The car is on a PCP so should I bite the bullet and pay or can I go elsewhere for the service at a cheaper price? thought one of you might know whether the PCP ties me in. Also will a non -audi stamp cause issues if she was to upgrade the car ahead of the PCP schedule?

You would be better off sticking with Audi as it's likely that the car will need some software updates which an independent is not usually able to do.

Phone around two or three more Audi dealers and see if you can get the price down. Unlikely you'll get it below £200, but it all helps.

For the first service definitely stick with Audi. When you reach the end of the PCP you'll probably find you'll achieve more money trading the car in with a Full Audi history than you will just handing it back to the finance company. It impacts the value of young cars as they can only be sold as Approved Used with a full manufacturer history, otherwise its just of to auction and sold to the highest bidder.

That sounds about right for a first service, I think mine was about £250 last year.

Supply your own oil , that will save the huge mark up the stealers put on lubricants , just ask them them for the spec and make they use

I just got charged £90 for 5 litres of Castrol Edge Professional, same spec oil can be had for£45 , stealer most likely pays a lot less than this in 45 gallon drums !
