right so I've got a bit of an issue thats proving hard to diagnose.

two of the leds on the inner right hand side tail light cluster are intermittent. I've noticed it yesterday first time myself but I was told about it by a colleague first 2 months ago.
Two leds not on in the middle of the strip. Last night turned engine on, off, drove for a bit, opened/closed boot lid - still not on. Fast forward to this morning - turn the motor on and all the leds are working okay.
Reason why I haven't noticed it before after it was mentioned to me is probably because its so intermittent and I'm yet to figure out what's the conditions when that happens.

Have anyone had problem like this before and tracked down what's causing it?

I did get a message last night "battery weak" when I was playing around with lights in the car and message came up after couple of minutes - as far as I know car still has an original battery - could it be related?

I seem to remember from another forum that the terminals corrode on the LED modules causing a poor connection.

I'd get the battery checked as a precaution given the time of year

This might help...

are the light units dismantable so I could check for the corrosion?

I don't have the LED units (only normal bulbs) on my B8.

Hopefully someone else will know?

I would guess that it's either the connections have corroded, or the led's are on their way out.

Good luck finding the problem.

I have a bad LED in one of my rear clusters. It is very dim and flickers, but does it all the time, not intermittent. The car is under warranty, my dealer is getting a replacement in in the hope we can have it changed under warranty.

I'll let you know how it goes.
