The RS6 is a very reliable car. Mine now has 75k miles with no issues at all. I think some front suspension bushes are on the way out but this is to be expected at this age and with a car this heavy. A few have suffered an engine oil leak from the rear of the engine, the seal costs £50p but it's an engine out job to fix. This is a rarer problem that some will lead you to believe though.

They don't seem to suffer the gearbox issues of the previous generation and there are very few issues reported with the DRC suspension on the C6, all in all a very reliable car.

I wouldn't say it's a weekend car though, for me it's an every day car and one that I haul my wife and 3 kids around on the weekend in too. If I had the money for an every day and a weekend car I'd have the RS6 day to day and something RWD for the weekend. I do love the traction on a day to day basis though and there aren't many cars that can keep up, especially in the cold/damp.

To be honest if want a weekend toy don't think an RS6 would be...
Sadly i dont live in the UK so an Astom Martin is way to expensive, the Porsche 911 is an option but, isnt even near as fast and since i plan on taking it to skiing a Porsche 911 is again not an option and just cant fit as much stuff in the trunk

So I never got to drive the RS6 as it sold the previous day. I doubt the handling would have been much the wiser anyway and as the missus uses it daily she didn't fancy the 10mpg so looks like we're keeping this for another year at least.

I was reading EVO earlier where they have the Uber estate shootout with the C7 RS6 and they mention "mid corner you loose track of the front wheels and the wheel washes out". This is the exact feeling I get, I've got some Super Sports on order so will see how they fair.

I did get in touch with MRC who seem to specialise in all aspects of Audi including geo, considering the stock suspension is hard but so poorly controlled (rebound damping seems to be too low and compression too hard) I'm looking to go for the Bilstein B12 kit. MRC also have a tune where stage 1 gives 450PS?!
