What age is your car? Audi's own website quote £485 for an "Interim service" for cars > 3 years old.

Still exorbitant, but £100 better than £585.

I'm not sure what's allegedly "not done" in the fixed price services? Things like pollen filter are 'extra' regardless.

That's worth knowing. I'll take a look at that.

If you're uncomfortable with £560 then don't buy a Porsche, minor service at opc was £1200 i.e. oil and filter change plus a free complimentary 'wreck the bodywork' valet.

Minor service on my v8 s4 is around the £250 mark from the stealer. Check exactly what they are assuming you are okay with receiving.

PS be careful if they start going on about the fixed price service as this is a cut down service and doesn't do everything that is specified in the service schedule for the car, wkers!

For what car? My 991 GT3 is "only" £700, but it's costing me £1050, for a 2 year service, having cruise retro fitted, and a kerb on the wheel repaired.

Been back on to them today and it would appear it has changed to £485 without me even querying it. Makes me laugh when they say they need the car for 2 days because of its size.

Probably so the workshop foreman can take it home for a jolly.

Car is a 997.2 C4S minor service plus brake fluid and belts, might also include the 6 year maintenance but still tops anything my S4 has needed in a stealer service in 11 years and 110,000 miles.

Bringing this back to life, I am in the exact same position.

My R8 has been on the annual service scheme due to the low mileage it always seems to have done. So per the service book it needs an oil change, but the car service says over 300 days or 8000 miles.

I got 3 quotes yesterday from my local Audi dealers. Milton Keynes, Bedford and Hitchin. First two came back at £585 and I think this was for oil change and inspection, did ask if there was any room for movement, but I was told its fixed pricing. So tried Hitchin and they have quoted £585 for oil and inspection, but seems they would charge me £300 if I supplied my own oil and just wanted it changed, so as someone says further up it won't reset the service indicator.

The car had a major service last year. So I suppose my question is should I being looking at getting it serviced or just get the oil changed? When looking for the car I wanted one that had been properly maintained so I don't want to buy one and then start cutting corners.
Try AKS tuning in Bedford. He's good and not silly money.

IIRC these cars have three drain points, each needing a different socket key.

The last I heard was that these tools were unavailable on the aftermarket and Audi will not let each dealership have more than one of each, meaning effectively you have no choice but to use a franchised dealer.

I wonder if this is still the case?
err No. And tbh it never was laugh

As per the earlier poster ref Porsche Servicing. R8 IS an expensive car. Expensive cars tend to have expensive servicing (rightly or wrongly) Do those complaining about running costs also complain that it drinks a fair bit more fuel? biggrin
