Want to trade in my car and buy another from dealer but feel I'm being screwed shocker! Newsflash, you are wink

There's often a decent selection of 6-12 month-old approved used cars, with under 12K on the clock. Similar spec (usually metallic paint, tech pack, not much else), and often registrations beginning with "K". (= Luton/Northampton)

These seem to be ex-Audi UK cars, but I have no idea where they've actually been. Press demonstrators, ex-management runarounds, maybe. Anyone know? Prices vary, but good discounts can still be had on these.

As for trade-in vs discount - salesman will just juggle the two depending on which one he thinks you obsess about more. Just focus on the "cost to change".

Just means it was registered to VW UK before. Could have been a staff car, press car like you mention or ex-rental. Make a perfectly good buy as they are often well specced and nicely discounted
