Keyless locking by pressing the buttons on the outside of the door handle only works increasing intermittently on my D4 S8. I have separated the key from another for another car with keyless and tried putting the key in various places. Will also try the other key and check for fault codes, but anyone know a TSB for this? Anything C7 A6 would probably be relevant since many of the electrics are the same. It isn't just the driver door but all of them.

I have noticed passenger front door on b8s4 is playing up as well. It doesnt always lock the car first time but will unlock it every time... What I noticed so far is that it starts working everytime when I physically open and close this door and then try to lock/unlock it... I dont use these doors for closing anyway that often so it doesnt cause me hassle but it annoys me. Rear door s always lock first time though.

They're notorious for this and sooner or later the sensor in the handle will give up completely.

They're about £45 each and take an hour or so to fit.

It is only just over a year old. Is there an updated part in the last year or do the late models still have this unresolved issue? The unlock works but the lock seems not to. Interestingly, when it doesn't lock repeatedly it also doesn't work on the other doors.

Obviously I can get the dealer to look at it, and Dundee have been very good, but it is travelling and hassle.

No fault codes in any of the four doors. Will try the other key for a few days. Since it is intermittent it will take a while to see if that helps.

Happened to my RS5 at 3 years old. Apparently it's very common, I was told water and dirt find their way in and damage the sensor, not sure if it's true but it's easily and cheaply fixed anyway.
