Just stumbled upon this post at the time I'm looking to replace my 2012 RS4.
I understand the standard kit has changed a bit since mine arrived (one of the first to arrive in the UK).
The things I rue after these last 2 years/30K miles are firstly not getting the driver memory seats, and secondly speccing it with DRC. I didn't go with the Sports pack as I didn't like the Rotors which were were mandatory at the time nor the dynamic steering.
The main fault with this car, which I must admit I like rather than love, is the ride. The DRC in Dynamic is too firm, in Comfort too soft, and Auto too schizophrenic. It just never feels great. I heard that its a lot better on standard suspension.
I tend to agree having driven both DRC and non DRC, but it's pretty marginal in my experience and the residual value of non sport pack was a concern for me. What you going for next?I understand the standard kit has changed a bit since mine arrived (one of the first to arrive in the UK).

Interesting that Blue62 found the difference marginal between DRC/non DRC
I was keen to have adjustability after owning a C63 with the early Performance Pack (the later one aded power but not the German spec suspension. The RS in Dynamic is firmer than that but better damped.
Still at long list stage for the next car. Current short list is Alpina D3, Golf R, and RS6...

I'd try and spec one without the dynamic steering. Not sure how the options work, but it cost me more to have it without the dynamic steering, something to do with the option packs.
What's the benefit of not having dynamic steering? In auto the steering remains in normal/comfort mode and I have set up my individual mode to keep it in comfort as I'm not a fan of the heavier feel in dynamic mode but I wouldn't go out of my way to remove the feature from the car especially at any expense.

I didn't like the unpredictability of it. In dynamic mode the ratio is fixed but the steering is to heavy for my liking, in the comfort mode the ratio is variable which I find very disconcerting and unnatural. If I could I'd also spec it without the drive select as the dynamic mode is too firm so there really is no point in having it.
I'd much prefer a simple sports mode for the gearbox and a button to open the exhaust valves.
Can't argue with that I agree about the exhaust valvesI'd much prefer a simple sports mode for the gearbox and a button to open the exhaust valves.

I'm talking marginal in comfort, I agree with the comments about dynamic, I just don't get it. I was given a standard RS6 for 24 hours and enjoyed it, the air suspension suits the car and the engine is epic, if a little quiet, but it is a barge and the sheer bulk put me off. I was mightily impressed with the M5 and liked the CLS 63, but they both struggled on wet/slippy surfaces which I figured could be draining over time, especially as I live in the Peaks. Good luck with your shopping…...I was keen to have adjustability after owning a C63 with the early Performance Pack (the later one aded power but not the German spec suspension. The RS in Dynamic is firmer than that but better damped.

Ok, so after 6 weeks (SIX!) the deal on the RS4 has fallen through. Very, very annoying. I only waited this long as it was the exact spec I wanted, plus low mileage.
Soooo... if anyone has, or knows of, a sepang blue RS4 available for sale please let me know (black optic pack & black leather a must, as well as the V spoke alloys + as many other extras as possible!)
(Sensibly priced of course)

2013 Think it's done about 20K miles, doesn't have the V spoke but has two sets of wheels, the standard ones and 5 spokes. If interested make me a reasonable offer.
