Audi S5 tyre size
Discussion
Am away at friends this weekend and managed to get a flat in a rear. Handbook is not in the car and need clarification on tyre size for 20" wheels: is it 265/30 ZR20 (as currently fitted), or 255/30 ZR20 as all the tyre sites say?
Also, any preference/experience between Conti Sport Contacts or Goodyear Eagle F1s on here?
Thanks

Seriously? Are you asking should you fit one 255 when the rest of the wheels have 265's on
Common sense would normally answer your question.
No I am not asking that. I am asking what the 'correct' size for the car is. I am replacing both rears now, and the fronts soon anyway.Common sense would normally answer your question.
Also asked for thoughts on Conti vs Goodyear?
Anyone?
The correct spec is 265/30ZR20 XL 94Y
We had Conti SC2 on our Sportback when bought and they were OK, although odd wear. Quite like the Dunlops which we tried on a 19" wheeled version we test drove
Personally, having just had the 20s refurbished for summer, I'm going for Michelin Super Sports when the winters come off. I have them on my S8 and like them a lot. You can get them from Tyre Leader or Oponeo for £208 each delivered. Personally I'd go for Oponeo as I asked a simple question of Tyre Leader which was too much effort for them to answer!

Brilliant, confirms the tyres currently on are correct. Odd that tyre seller websites state 255s are right fitment.
Anyway getting prices back on 265 contis and goodyears tomorrow- will have a look at the michelins too. Never had them before but they seem to get decent reviews. Thanks for the advice

Our pre-facelift S5 definitely came with 265 - it's what's listed on the tyre pressure list in the door
Although ours has ADS so may be the reason?
If there are variations in spec for tyre size you'd expect a tyre web site to highlight that you need to check carefully? Some give you different wheel size options based on make and model, but others just seem to guess!

I took it as 'they're both right' - certainly most seem to be on 265s but I've also seen very young cars on 255s. The 255 looks a tiny bit too narrow (brand dependent).
Those tyre look up things get it wrong fairly often; I certainly wouldn't base buying several hundred £ of tyre on one.

Checked the sticker (as above) on mine (2010 model) and it shows the 265 size for 20s.
Have therefore ordered Michelin pilot sport 2s, to be fitted this week, £10 cheaper than the contis and should be an improvement over the current dunlops.
Can't wait to get the new tyres on as the punctured tyre couldn't be repaired (to get me home), so had to drive 200 miles home on the space saver at 50mph yesterday.......thank god for cruise
