£50 vag-com on eBay

Has anyone bought the above from eBay? They claim to have full functionality and fully activated.

Or is direct from Ross-tech the only option?

I want to use it on a mk6 golf and scirocco if that makes any difference.

I doubt a £50 version will be genuine and sanctioned by ross tech.

It'll more than likely be a clone. It'll probably work ok with current software, not future releases though?

Personally I bought the genuine article. You'd wish you had if the dodgy version screws your car up!

This, but they can work, luck of the draw really. Mine works, the next one may not do so.
I have only used mine 4 times in a couple of years, hence chancing it a touch. Ymmv.

I've got a 20 quid one running ancient v908 software and it works fine on my 2002 and 2011 Audis. It misses out on a few files so can't check some of the more in depth data within modules but for a general fault finding tool and for making setting changes it does the job

One day I'll buy the genuine article, but at £270 it can wait.

I have one of these and as long as you don't update you will be fine...


Update and it all needs resetting by the seller... so I have been reliably informed.



So I guess that if you are only working on vehicles within the range of the version on the unit you are purchasing then you should be ok....




And I agree, £270 is rather steep....
