2015 Touareg 262 R line
Discussion
I've been following this thread with interest. My Touareg was order at the end of March 2015 and I was told it would be a 12 week until delivery (and may be sooner - huh), which would take it to the end of June. I am now told it will be built in early August. I may as well now delay delivery until September to get the new reg. It's incredibly frustrating but not sure what I can do?!? We have a road trip in 5 weeks and would have been good to have the new car for then. Again the story of a fire has been relayed to me.
The annoying things for me is it looks like my car is built, but cannot be shipped as its slightly incomplete... 99.9% done... according to correspondence.
The also annoying thing is my car goes back to leasing late july, and I wanted to buy a new plate too, so it is registered with new reg, personal to me.
No I am holding it up, as I don't know whether to buy a "15" or "65" plate... REAL WORLD PROBLEMS!

Hi all, new here! I have placed an order for one of these too.
Order was placed: 30/03/2015
Unconfirmed build date: W/C 29/06/2015
Unconfirmed delivery: W/C 27/07/2015 or the following week.
When I ordered they were quoting 14-16 weeks delivery so it isn't too far out.
I am pondering pushing it to a definite 1st Sept delivery for the new plate, then I can get rid of the old car without fear of being left car-less and I get the new plate.

Literally just received an update.
Your order status has been updated. Your car has been built and has now left the factory. On average it takes 4 weeks from build for this model to reach your local Volkswagen Retailer.
Excited
Now that's just plain mean! Mine was order the day before yours and still 'With the factory'. It seems so random.Your order status has been updated. Your car has been built and has now left the factory. On average it takes 4 weeks from build for this model to reach your local Volkswagen Retailer.

Hopefully the orders will get moving now. Genuinely excited for you!
Did any of you guys add the tyre maintenance to your lease agreement? I can imagine these tyres are very £££'s, and it's showing as £6 extra a month.
Not sure what the VW tolerance is when you hand the car back, or what brand of tyre is on the vehicle? (ie: always found Pirrelli softer than Michelin). But the last thing i'd want is to be hit with an £800 bill because the tyres are on the limit of what they'd accept.
My gut feeling is that it would be nearer 16k miles before they'd need looking at, but i've only ever sold privately so not been bothered.
Any experience of dealing with VW Finance would be handy. My agreement is for 6,000 miles PA over 2 years.
