2015 Touareg 262 R line
Discussion
Drove Pompey to Bristol today I thought I'd see what actual economy I could get out of it with a little effort, 120miles ew.
Journey there was 45.7mpg and the return journey was 43.9mpg .
I mainly set cruise around 60-65mph, speeds down to 50 in road works with an occasional foray up to the dizzy speed of 70mph. Tbh I'm more than Impressed that such a big beast can get that kind of economy with a fairly highly tuned 3.0v6 derv despite the size and weight of the thing. Well done VW.

mine is being delivered on target after all delays, 27th... happy days!
Really pleased, well done VW, and well done to Harry, that's great economy, im going to make it my mission to get 50mpg on the clock over 100miles, take a pic of it, and laugh when people state I bet it drinks fuel!
Just need to find a 100mile downhill stretch... lol

I was sat in the M3 50MPH roadworks at 50ish this week in my 262 (just hit 2500 miles & the consumption has improved over that time), with cruise on it was doing mid 50's for the duration, so easily done!Really pleased, well done VW, and well done to Harry, that's great economy, im going to make it my mission to get 50mpg on the clock over 100miles, take a pic of it, and laugh when people state I bet it drinks fuel!

Thanks, that's useful to know. 6 days to go now... I literally would swap today at cost if I had the chance roll on 27th!!
Has anyone bought any useful accessories... roof rack etc Thule ? or Bike rack for the factory tow bar? Any recommendations?
I remember the last few days of waiting well! (then it arrived with a nail in one of the tyres!)Has anyone bought any useful accessories... roof rack etc Thule ? or Bike rack for the factory tow bar? Any recommendations?
Any how, I've bought some Thule roof bars, there's a bit of a debate about which ones are suitable with the pano roof (some of the chunkier ones don't allow the roof to open as they drop too low. I bought Thule 969 wingbars + 757 footpack, cost was £145, they fit well & aren't ugly.
Really sorry hear that Anil....it really sounds like an awful long time.
There are various issues that could be delaying it. Like someone mentioned on this forum, dealers are allotted certain number of 'builds' and yours might have been delayed. Besides during May there was some delays as well in production d/t fire, etc. Then you have a catch up time as well. Typically things should go smoothly once the build date is confirmed (fingers crossed).
Hopefully not too long now.
