Labbetts sounds like you don't have long to go. You ordered on the same date as me, but I said I did not want to take delivery until 1 September so I think the dealership may have sat on the order for a while before sending it off to VW. A few weeks ago I was told the car should be with the dealership around the first week in August, but that was prior to the post about possible delays brought about because of a fire at a suppliers factory.

Coin - sounds good. All of my recent cars have been "sporty" and I do like a good blast, so it's pleasing to know that the car is no slouch and can still provide some excitement as well as comfort!

Drmsa - can you tell me a little more about the deal on the service package please.Did you just ask your dealer for a price and then said your car was on lease?

£9 per month seems unbelievably cheap, did he mention why the discount when you said that the car was on lease?

All of you owners who have had your cars for a while would you have another and;

1. What do you like most about the car
2. What do you like least about the car
3. What would you change.

Hi Coin, thank you for your reply, I am glad you are enjoying your car. I think the car comes pretty well specd compared to the likes of BMW and Mercedes, however stray from the standard specification and things get expensive £437.50 per wheel for a one inch increase in wheel and tyre size, for what appears to be a cheaper wheel as its not diamond cut.Nappa leather at nearly £2k also seems expensive compared to BMW.

I was just reading a long term test review by car magazine of the previous model from 2012 in Altitude spec with 245 bhp. They strapped some timing gear on the car and managed a 0 to 60 time of 6.9 seconds. As the current model is supposedly around 200 kg lighter and has more power it makes you wonder if the official time is a little conservative.

How are the standard wheels holding up, do the tyres have sufficient depth of sidewall to offer some degree of protection against damage, as they look difficult to repair?

For those of you who did not get caught up in the delay following the fire at a suppliers factory, can you recall how long it took to get from "With the factory" to a build date being allocated?

Thank you Anil12, not long to go now for you. I am hoping your long wait was due to the supply problem of certain part(s) which I understand has now been resolved.

Hi Anil, no build week yet' but from reading the info on the website, you get a build date approx 4 weeks before the actual build and after its built it takes a further 4 weeks to reach the dealer.

Has anyone bought any aftermarket rubber car mats, if so and they are ok, can you please let me know where you ordered them from?

I have just taken delivery (at last) on my new 262 R line, a standard car apart from Metallic Black paint. I have been reading the manual and generally having a bit fiddle to get to know what's what and I have a couple of questions;

1. Am I right in thinking that the auto dipping left hand side mirror (as per BMW) is only available if you have the electric seat option?

2. I have tried 3 separate CD's in an attempt copy them to the HDD, however I just cannot get the option to "import", any ideas?

labbetts - thank you!

SD card it is, just hate things not working when they should, I never had any trouble with my BMW when copying CD's to the hard drive.
