So today for the first time I changed mode from Sport to Normal and then back to Sport.

I noticed that the car was holding the gears a lot longer and felt much "sportier" than it was despite previously being in "Sport" mode.

Then I noticed on the info display that the gears were showing as S1, S2, S3 etc. whilst before they had shows as D1, D2, D3 etc.

Remember how I said there is too much in the book to take it all in?

Seems pulling back on the shifter toggles the gearbox between "sport" gearing and "normal" gearing so whilst I picked up the car with it already in "sport" mode, it was in "normal" gearing and I simply hadn't realised it.

What a chimp biggrin

I've just bought a Mk7 Golf GT too, only with a manual box. I've only had it a few days - I got it last Friday.

Loving the ACC, but that's because I do a 100 mile round trip daily commute on mostly motorway miles so it is genuinely useful.

One thing that is really odd, though, is that the "since start" readout is *meant* to reset after 2 hours. Mine doesn't seem to - even after being left overnight it still has the data from the previous journey. The only way to zero it is manually.

The other annoyance is that the spare wheel well was full of water when I got it home, and the rear seat was damp. I'm *hoping* that this was just because the dealer left the hatch and rear doors open during one of the recent sudden heavy rainshowers that we have had recently. If not, I'll be claiming on the warranty.

Nice, they really do make excellent long distance commuters. Ref the since start screen, it will initially show previous journey stats but as soon as you drive of should reset, at least mine does!

Ah, thanks for that. I'll give that a go. thumbup

Edit: I popped out to the car and drove it once round the car park to test it, and you are completely correct.
On my Corrado it would start zeroed and I think I must have made the assumption that the Golf would too. Instead, as you say, it displays the previous journey and only resets when you move off.
