i am thinking or ordering a Golf Sv GT with DCC as i like the GT spec over the SE but want to keep the ride as smooth as possible. Has anyone any experience of DCC or any opinions. Cost is £815, but if it gives a smoother ride it will be worth it.

Further to this. I have test driven both the normal Golf and the SV. The SV looks boxier, but they are almost identical in how they drive. I did not feel any body roll in the SV but maybe that would happen if driven down some bendy country roads. The big differnce for me, and the wife, is the higher driving position which we liked. Also it is easier to get into, not much bending. The back seats have a little more leg room, and the back doors open very wide which will be handy when we need to get our grandchild in and out of the child seat. It does cost a little more, but the extra room may make it worth it.

Haven't driven the SV yet so not sure. I used to find driving the old Golf Mk5 and Golf Plus back to back that the Plus was noticeably worse handling, so impressive if that's no longer the case with the SV smile

Well I've trawled through the net and found various test drive reports and the upshot appears to suggest that both cars have a very similar drive, unlike the older Golf+ which was quite different to the standard Golf. The SV in SE form does have slightly more body roil around corners, but the stiffer suspension of the GT tends to stop that. However the ride is firmer on the GT so if a softer ride is required then DCC needs to be fitted. Several reports suggest DCC does make the difference on a GT. As DCC is not available on some engine options on the SE it suggests that on a SE it would make little or no difference.

I have DCC on my Scirocco and there's a noticable improvement in comfort in "comfort" mode.
I just leave it in Sport all the time.
