Rear wiper on 2008 A6 Avant is sagging

I've seen this on countless other Audi's. The rear wiper, when in it's "rest" position has gradually started to fall lower and lower.

Now instead of resting fully on the rear window, it has just started to touch the bodywork.

I phoned my local Audi dealer where the car has been serviced since new and they said they would need to see the car before diagnosing the problem. This is more than a little disappointing since I know it is very common and they will have seen it many times before.

Anyone know the cause and what the fix is?

Just had this fixed on mine, it was the wiper motor at fault. They just replaced the whole unit. Not overlay expensive.

Very, very disappointing to hear Audi need to see the car to diagnose the problem. The guy in my local indi didn't even let me finish the sentence in the reception before diagnosing the problem - let alone having to see the car.

Thanks for your reply. I phoned my local Independant Audi specialist. He suggested two possible causes over the phone.

I've booked my car in next week. Will let you know how I get on.
