I have owned my 4.2 V8 S5 for four years now so felt it was time for a change.

My wife has been pecking my head for months about changing it for a Cab but as they're only built in supercharged V6 form I was a little worried it would lose its sense of occasion.

Fortunately I have a friend who is an Audi senior tech who arranged for me to have a demonstrator for the weekend. Whilst the car wasn't to a spec/colour I liked, I was impressed and loved the s-tronic gearbox.

So, having gone a little mad on the options list I managed to secure an early build slot and Friday I received an email saying "car on way to UK".

It's my first ever factory built car so I'm quite excited. Ordered Sepang blue with a variety of nice options including drive select and damper control.

Will post some pics when it arrives.

Oh, and I've not told my wife I have ordered it yikes

I'd have one if they did it with a bloody manual box. Its a lovely car but they really have gone a bit weird with the spec recently, you have to spend a fortune to get an S5 up to Sline plus level which just seems wrong.

To be honest one of the key drivers for me is to change the box. Always been a manual fan but the drivetrain in my V8 is so bloody heavy it gets quite tiresome.

Know what you mean about the spec. It's very stingy with no nav etc but I got a good deal so I had some flexibility on spec without pushing the price through the roof (figuratively speaking).

Will be a shame to say goodbye to the existing S5 though and it's V8 loveliness. Seems like the end of an era.

Sepang is a stunning colour, fair play.

Get some pictures up for us once you've taken delivery. Shmee150 on here used to have a Sepang cab with lots of toys, a very pretty car.

Cheers! My S5 coupe is mugello blue so I wanted something as striking.

Will defo post pics when it arrives. Went a bit mad (ish) with the spec. Nav, audi connect, B&O, drive select, dynamic steering, damper control, keyless, flat bottom steering wheel, high beam assist and 20 inch wheels.

Looking forward to delivery!

Your car and you're rightly enjoying the privilege of buying it new and specifying it exactly how you want.

Enjoy smile
