What engine was in the mk3 if the mounting points aren't the same, a small block?

Easiest way to do this is to either get a custom loom/management or get the 1.8t engine loom modified so it plugs into the mk3 fuse box and the 1.8t ecu de immobilised.

As for the mounts, you will need to bolt a rear mount from a tall block mk3 (AGG/ABF) onto the rear if the 1.8t motor, ABF front mount with an ABF gearbox is easiest. You can use 8v AGG mounts and gearbox but the gearboxes are made of chocolate, so it's best to go down the ABF route

After this is done it should all bolt up

All mk3 Subframes are the same, as are the shells so it's the bolt on parts that are different.

There are other gearboxes/mounts that can be used along with other ways to do the wiring but the above IMO is easiest for a plug n play install

It was a 1.4 and thanks for the reply I have attached photos on what I'm working wive and also I'm going to use the wiring loom of the Audi and also will the front axle fit straight onto the golf for making my job easier for the driveshafts ?
