HI Everyone,

I am new to this site so please excuse me if my problem is trivial.

At the end of November 2014 i ordered a new Audi RS6 with a number of extra's. I was told it will be with me in 3 months time well, guess what? It still hasn't arrived!
I do feel like i am being given the run around and the last update i had was that the car had been built and was now with parts, does anyone know what this means?

Thanks in advance.

John

We had to wait 5.5 months for our A6 2.0 TDI avant, ordered October and only arrived late last month.

Don't forget the C7 has just had a major facelift so there will be a backlog I'm sure on all models.

really depends on the options - if you spec'd anything from the exculsive options or ceramic brakes, it adds considerable time to the wait.

surely the dealers should be able to give you a build week slot... something to set expectations by... ?

Update.

Apparently it is at the port waiting to be shipped over. Not overly specked up, comes out at around £90k. Sometimes i feel the communication should be better when you are purchasing a £90k car.

Top car! On a smaller scale we ordered a S3 in Feb and it won't be here until Jul.

I ordered an S5 mid March and it was delivered Saturday. Dealer was able to spec change a car already in the queue.

I know Audi UK are struggling to get cars into the UK. Blockage at Grimbsy docks apparently. Bolton Audi still had a backlog of customer cars which should've been delivered in March.

Sometimes strange/small options cause a delay or even a particular colour.

The chap that runs Satnav Systems was telling me not long ago that a lot of his business comes from Audi missing things at the factory or even dealers cancelling individual options then getting them retrofitted in the UK to avoid a delay.

My S4 Avant (ordered mid Feb) is now looking like late July delivery. Every time I call, it's slipped a couple of weeks more, so I've stopped calling smile

This is interesting: https://www.carwow.co.uk/new-car-delivery-times

There's serious issues with Volkswagen group deliveries at the moment. You're lucky it's only been since 04/04.
To give you some perspective, we've had a Touareg arrive today that is 2 months late, i.e it's been built and waiting to ship from Emden for 2 months.

To give you some idea of the level of service agreement VW have with it's dealers, from arrival at port there's 2 relevant dates, Transport order raised or Compound Entry which ever is the later date they aim for 15 days to UK port, sometimes it's 1 day sometimes it's 15.
From UK Port to retailer is 10 working days. So technically you're still within the allocated level of service.

On the other hand, for me personally I make my clients aware of these things at order and as time progresses. If your salesman hasn't then that's bad form.

The comments regarding the fact it's a £90k car, immaterial! One man's £90K is another man,s £10k, it's all relevant and all customers should be treated equally.

Odd, because I ordered a Treg at the end of Feb and I get it Tuesday (I could pick it up today but I'm a little tied up).

It's a factory order, not one from UK stock, so not everything appears to be held up.

Don't go thinking anything as logical as chronological order would come into the delivery of vehicles!!!!

Having worked for Volkswagen Group for over 5 years, things currently are the most chaotic and out of sync they've ever been. In fact they've never been bad, but the last few months have just fallen apart.

I ordered a fully loaded S4 Avant on 24th Dec 2014 and have been scheduled a build week of 1st June, and expected delivery in mid July (if there's no further delays).
frown

At no point was i made aware by the dealers that it would take anywhere near this long when purchasing the car. If i'd have known it would be 7 months, i'd have likely been taking my money elsewhere.

I was super excited about getting a new car for the first 3 months. Now i'm just, "meh!"

I ordered a well spec'd S4 Avant BE end of March 2015 and given a late July delivery date. I thought this was pretty good seeing as I also switched it to the MY16 spec at the end of the week when I placed the order.
Although I have no indications there are any problems with delivery I am beginning to think I am more likely to be seeing it on a 65 plate.

I've only got three options on mine, probably why I got it so quickly.

You'd think after building cars for so many years that VAG would have a cast iron process in place?!
