Audi RS6 order

I ordered a fully loaded S4 Avant on 24th Dec 2014 and have been scheduled a build week of 1st June, and expected delivery in mid July (if there's no further delays).
At no point was i made aware by the dealers that it would take anywhere near this long when purchasing the car. If i'd have known it would be 7 months, i'd have likely been taking my money elsewhere.
I was super excited about getting a new car for the first 3 months. Now i'm just, "meh!"
Blimey, that's a long timeAt no point was i made aware by the dealers that it would take anywhere near this long when purchasing the car. If i'd have known it would be 7 months, i'd have likely been taking my money elsewhere.

Have you gone custom paint or leather as that's what usually takes the longest
I had to wait circa 7months for my current Rs4, but that was due to delays in supply of Ceramic brakes
Typically, I was going to go for Sports Classic grey, but was told it would be circa 6 months for the car and if I went Misano red, it would be ready in 2 months, but waited longer anyway. Communication during that time was quite bad to be honest

Don't go thinking anything as logical as chronological order would come into the delivery of vehicles!!!!
Having worked for Volkswagen Group for over 5 years, things currently are the most chaotic and out of sync they've ever been. In fact they've never been bad, but the last few months have just fallen apart.
I've only got three options on mine, probably why I got it so quickly.Having worked for Volkswagen Group for over 5 years, things currently are the most chaotic and out of sync they've ever been. In fact they've never been bad, but the last few months have just fallen apart.
You'd think after building cars for so many years that VAG would have a cast iron process in place?!

its on the boat now. luckily no damage as I couldn't be arsed waiting again.
Hi insurance Jon. When you say it's on the boat, is that your replacement steering wheel that's on the boat? If so, how do you know? The reason I ask is that I am one of the 49 who has an RS at Grimsby docks without a steering wheel. When I asked my local Audi dealer what the plan is to get a replacement I cannot get a straight answer. I cannot believe that they are not a stock item, and further cannot believe that they put a wheel on a boat, when people are waiting for their new cars. Any news on your progress much appreciated.Glad your problem is resolved. If the car arrived with no steering wheel and it isn't a stock item do you know how they got one so quickly? The eBay price isn't bad and I would have thought that as a decent bit of service recovery Audi could splash out on one, although perhaps that would not be possible for warranty/safety reasons. My dealer does not have a plan of what to do and I have known my steering wheel was missing since the 18th May. I am currently driving a Q7 they have lent me but it's not an RS6!
Lovely car BTW, have lots of fun with it but look after your steering wheel. I am considering a disk look for mine.

Hmmm. Whilst not broken in to at the docks (they are left unlocked with the keys in the ignition as standard procedure) mine arrived at the dealership after a six week wait for a replacement steering wheel. While there was no apparent damage the PDI at the garage has revealed that the electrical connection between the steering wheel and the steering rack was inoperabtive. A new steering rack is on order-another 2 weeks.
As far as I know Audi and Grimsby docks have not changed anything as a result of these thefts-expensive mistake.

An update on my situation. Steering rack was not the problem so the dealership tried changing the airbag actuator module. This hasn't worked and they are now talking to Audi in Germany to try to fix the electrics. They have no idea when (or if) this will be resolved. With 48 other cars affected I am surprised I am the only one with such a problem.p
This is the closest I've got to "my" car. It's pretty well specced an an unusual colour so an alternative car is not really an option-yet!

It's Racing Mica Blue, which I think is a Ford colour. They charged me for an Audi exclusive, which was less than I thought it would be as a custom colour.
The good news is that I collect the car this Thursday with all faults fixed!
Correct; straight off an Escort Cosworth! The good news is that I collect the car this Thursday with all faults fixed!
