Modern world, I find cars such as this as dull as fk. I have just sold a six month old R35 GT-r for the same reason, and in character terms that car is way beyond the dull as ditchwater Audi. All the go, but in the real world, no relevance whatsoever. So, not a troll (just to show what you know) but someone who thinks these mega bhp cars are a complete waste of time.

I struggle to recognise your description but each to their own. And nor do most road testers it would seem. I have yearned for the combination of practicaliity and performance for years but the C5 and C6 did not do it for me (although the latter had a great engine). But Audi have finally got it right in the C7. I assume you have driven one - if not, you need to before dismissing it.
Anyway, most RS6 owners are lucky enough to have other toys to meet their needs wink
We mainly use our RS6 when the dog is in a hurry.

Do you mind me asking where you got that deal, you've done very well, best I've seen on a car built to order is 12%. On the subject of 'dull as ditchwater' I can't agree that the RS6 or similar is dull, however I do have some sympathy with the view that they are becoming less relevant. I had a 991S with PDK a couple of years ago and it was difficult to exploit the car's performance and 'have fun' because the damn thing was stupidly quick and handled on rails.

That's fair enough, but can be applied to a depressingly large number of cars these days. I have a "sensible shoes" S4 Avant, and even with a 'mere' 330BHP you can't drive it on modern roads at more than a fraction of it's potential without behaving like a kn*b.

Apologies for the 'troll' comment: but you did pick an odd one-liner to enter a thread that was totally unrelated to the qualities of the car in question...

Good point. But part of the joy of having all that power/torque is the effortless progress. You don't need to max it on the roads - and would be daft to - to get the benefit. I know some owners hoon everywhere with the sports exhaust on, but that says more about them than the car. Anyway I can't afford the petrol to drive it like that smile
Back to the OP. I got 14% off cancelled order and a decent trade in price on my BMW.

wrong thread? An SV isn't it? Despite the owner being an A grade bellend, the car should not ignite like that.

At the time i ordered mine Orangewheels were doing a very good price - I also used carwow and worked with one of the dealers on there to price match - only reason i didnt use OW was because of the dealer location v's the Carwow dealer

Awesome! As an aside I saw one on the road recently and it looked and sounded amazing! I'd love one and no doubt will do when I've made my fortune with those penny shares.

My point is, that cars with such performance are an irrelevance when they carry such weight and girth. Enjoy on a nice motorway or autobahn where their dimensions do not matter, but then plod will curtail your speed. Take it to the twisties, and then you will be hampered by the lardiarse profile. Not a great car imho.

Funny, my dogs would be seriously pissed if I used such speed in my car. I would imagine most canines would not enjoy such extremes if the owner was insensitive enough to enjoy them, so no I guess I do not get your PoV. So, as a dog wagon, RS6 not. What does that leave you with? A fast route to the tip!

You might want to lighten up a bit - I wasn't being serious.
And do test drive a C7 - you may be surprised how far the RS6 has come on.

Jeez, you lot want to chill and get a sense of humour! Ok the RS6 isn't for everyone however, if you've got 2 kids, 2 dogs, do long journeys and want speed and something that doesn't look too conspicuous it's the perfect wagon. Shall we get back on topic and get a sense of humour now.

Plenty of good deals out there on the RS6. If only I could get a test drive in one. Inchape own most/all the dealerships in the south east, and they said their nearest one is in Bolton! Clearly not in a rush to sell these things. Wanted to test drive back to back with the new Q7.
Argh, got let down again for this weekend. Had a test drive booked for tomorrow, but they just phoned to cancel.

Whilst there is an element of truth in this ,the rs6 is the best of its type .It is better than an m5/e63 etc because it is far more useable ,you can enjoy several seconds of its performance ,and its performance is so ballistic and instantaneous you canactually have fun every time a stretch of road opens up in front of you.
The current one does actually drive really well, and it did not feel its size when I drove it.

I don't own one ,but if I had to have one car an rs6 makes total sense ,it can do everything my all road can do almost ,and can entertain as well.
