No mention of weapons etc, would insurance think you've done enough here in broad daylight to keep hod of your car? Obviously not knowing the full storey but sounds a bit to easy for this guy to steal a car.

If I was threatened with violance by a lone bloke in broad daylight I'd like to think I'd at least have a go at holding onto my car

I guess that depends on where it happens. If a random spot then yeah, have a go but if it is outside your house there is a good chance he'd return later with mates and potentially weapons.

A friend living just outside Leeds had his nicked a few weeks ago. From his drive, overnight while he, his wife and their young daughter were asleep in the house. Scum apparently broke in and grabbed the keys. Also took the keys for the A6 they also had and took the car, and took the keys to the older MX5 they have. Left the MX5 behind, which now of course has been subjected to a new set of locks.

So, one night - three insurance claims. The R was on lease, the A6 older and privately owned and the MX5 I think was a previous generation model. I think we're a month on now and he tells me that he's had to buy a banger to keep them mobile as the insurance co's are being slow.
