For the last week car has intermittently been reporting right hand tail light defective ,sort of every other dive , check lights with fault on and without fault never a problem all lights working.

So is it a loom fault or is it a VAG ruse to get you into a stealer for a new lamp that doesent need replacing ?

Sorry so cynical I know .

Last evening half way home up the M11 the fault was flagged up again, I forgot about it by the time I arrived home , but had to move cars around on drive later again no fault flagged up and all lights working.

Can't imagine a lamp filament with a gap being touch and go , might have a look at the connectors on to the cluster if it's not a mission today.

Usually moisture/corrosion on PCB behind the cluster.

Thanks Dr G, I can see that , so a common fault then ? Dare I say it a design flaw . Where does the water, moisture come from?

Off to the stealers then which should by be interesting !
