Greetings,

My first post of many hopefully, I have a 2003 mk4 1.4 golf that I bought a couple of months ago and am loving it, it had seen better days, but nearly there now.

I'm trying to source an air intake pipe but cannot find one online anywhere, I have checked the local breakers but all are eithyer broken or already taken and can't find anything on ebay. Can anyone help me out, point me in the right direction or offer an alternative fix please?

Here is my engine showing where the part is missing, i belive its just a small bit of concertina rubber tubing.

Is this going to cause me problems? I have heard some people remove this anyway as it makes the engine sound better?? I know sweet FA when it comes to cars but am enjoying learning, so apologies for any glaring errors etc

Thanks guys, any help, info, offer of parts much appreciated. smile

Why dont you just wander into your local VW dealer and buy one, cant believe a few inches of pipe and some jubilee clips will cost much...

According to a friend who works at the main dealership, they only sell the whole unit which is £90, no thanks. Euro Car Parts cannot help either, and also a VW specialist has said you can't get it on its own.

Got a quote from a breakers yard and they are saying £25?!?!

Its a bit of tube ffs

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, i'd love to know the part number just for the hose (if it has one) then it would be easier to find online...

I can't see that bit of pipe being worth more than a fiver, tenner max.
