worrying the more tech that gets stuffed in cars, with a manual box you probably would never have noticed.

You'd probably have noticed that, even with a manual box.Cupramax said:
Indeed, but what I meant was the gearbox wouldnt have stopped working properly as a result
Yeah, but it's a fine line between saying "too much technology" and "not enough technology". Horses don't even have tyres to go flat or gears to change, but bugger me am I gonna ride one to work every day.Hi guys, can i ask a question similar to the the lad got sorted with speed sensor fault, great result BTW my 2008 mk 5 gt tdi dsg box is faulty if i set off in D it will go through the gears fine until it gets into 3 then it will rev to about 4500/5000rpm then change and sometimes not change at all,
I can sometimes be traveling at 60/70 and it will change down into 5th, when I'm slowing down to come to a junction/roundabout it will judder as if it's changing down the gears "feeling like I'm tapping the brake", however it works fine when i pop it manual it go's through the gears fine, I'm puzzled as there is a engine management light on tho.
I had fresh oil & filter in the gearbox about 4 months ago.
Any ideas pls.
