I've got myself a lovely R8 v10 r tronic. .absolutely amazing car...lI've the way the car drives

But....as with all things I think it could do some improvement

My main gripe is the sound. ...or lack of it...the v10 sounds ok when being pushed but the oem exhaust is a bit muted fir my liking

What exhaust solutions do people find work best

Also I'm after a decent, thicker steering wheel which will work with the oem controls....

If you can get some idiots guide instructions on how to post pics, I'll be only too happy to oblige

I've been lucky enough to own a lot of fast cars....including a GTR, 4 m3s, m5, 997, etc etc but the r8 is the best so far

I just need to get the sound sorted and it really will be the ultimate riad car imho

Plenty of options for noise:

Milltek
Akrapovic
Capristo
Tubi Style

Youtube is your friend on these; everything from pleasingly rumbly all the way through to downright antisocial is readily available. Allow for ~7 hours labour fitting on top of the price of the exhaust; there's a fair bit of stripping down involved to get to it and build back up afterwards.

I have the x flow Capristo on mine - fantastic and added the one thing I also thought was missing. Remote control too so can dial it down on long journeys or when leaving/coming home early/late.

You get what you pay for with R8 exhausts. Miltek is loud and well priced, but Capristo and Akrapovic are on another level for sound quality.
Get a remote valved one though if you don't want to upset your neighbours or get black flagged at most track days

Thanks for the relies guys

How much could I get a milltek for.....or what are the various prices of the systems quoted above

It's a shame there's no uk forums for these cars as it all seems US based

R8talk has plenty of UK members.

I got my exhaust from Scuderia Systems. They were great, they're the official Capristo reseller for the UK.

Miltek are about £1500-£2000 depending on which one you go for. The others are probablyi in the region of £3-£5k. Thinking of one for my V8,heard a Larini club-sport a while ago and it was loud. Very loud!

As said above. Miltek is around £2k fitted (I think it's circa £1750 for the std system at MRC + Fitting)
Akrapovic is best part of £6k + Fitting
Capristo is somewhere in between
