Hi, I just bought a high spec Tiguan Escape & am finding the seats uncomfy.
I find the seats in my 997 far superior
I considered swapping seats but it's a pain to find ones that drop in and unless it drops right in without mods my insurance won't cover it. I could buy recaros but they're nearly 2k and really it's dead money.
I'd rather change the car but can't take a chance on the seats not being comfy. One of the problems is that it only gets uncomfortable after 60-90 mins of driving so a short test drive won't help identify the issue
Has anyone driven a Tig and a Q5 to compare seat quality / comfort? Q3 doesn't look that spacious.

Just handed back a Tiguan courtesy car and the seats in my Polo GTi are so much more comfortable. The Tigyan seats just seemed to be far too hard

Is this a trend with new VWs?

I tried a MK7 GTI, everything is about this car is great except for the hard thin seats (compared to my sofa versions in the MK5)

You should be able to arrange at a least a two hour drive in a car you are considering purchasing. I have had 2 hour unaccompanied drives in the last two used cars I have purchased. For the last new car bought I had the car on loan from 8.30am until 5pm and covered 250 miles.

Aren't seats from other Audi/VW/Skoda/Seat models a direct fit into your current car?

I managed a 48hour weekend drive.
