Hi

After a lot of time going the round the houses I am at the point of not knowing what to do next..

Throttle body was replaced, then another problem.

p201500 7859. inlet manifold runner position sensor.

Audi main dealer wanted £450 to diagnose the fault properly over 3 hours... enough said.

Another audi mechanic couldn't say for sure what the problem was but suspected whole new inlet manifold.

And then another guy who I do implicitly trust diagnosed the fault in 10 minutes..

His conclusion was "the inlet manifold runner position sensor" has a "deadspot" on it and is not opening and
closing correctly (I think that was his words).

Anyway he is adamant that it's just this sensor that is "broken", but I can't buy just the sensor alone as you have to buy the whole inlet manifold - £350 new + 2 hours to fit it.

Someone else has said don't worry about it just drive it and replace it when you get a minute..

I could take a chance and buy a 2nd hand manifold from ebay and just fit the sensor which wouldn't take as long, but my existing manifold is "coked up".

To add the car runs fine no problems just the light on the dash.

Thoughts ???

Thanks everyone

ok a further bit of searching google - does anyone think either applying the fix in this
youtube video would be worth a go?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrVFpYzMX3g

Or all the way in America a fix and part to buy for $64.00 vs £500-£800 repair bill?
